Curtains, Blinds and Soft Furnishings Expert
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A DESIGNER?
Quite simply, my mother. She has owned a curtains, blinds and soft furnishings business since before I was born. Some of my first memories include my sister and I were given cut off pieces of fabrics and linings which we would peg together and drape over our beds to make forts, we would be asked to colour coordinate the pieces of cotton and even be bribed to do the dreaded job of hoovering the workroom floor to get the reward of a £1! I grew up around colourful fabrics, sparkling finials and an inspiring, creative and most hard-working woman to guide and show me the way into a wonderful industry that brings new excitement with every project!
FROM WHERE DO YOU DRAW YOUR INSPIRATION?
The room and the window itself offer the best inspiration for treatments. The shape of the windows, the light, the aspect and the view that the windows offer, all contribute to inspiring the design. Ultimately the purpose is to achieve a perfect balance of beauty and practicality to serve the clients lifestyle
WHAT DO YOU FEEL MAKES YOUR STYLE UNIQUE?
Finding unexpected colours, prints and textures that work well together and compliment the space they are placed in. Seeing the focal point of the room, whether it be a piece of art, a chandelier, the view from the window or the window itself! It is about dressing the windows and pairing the soft furnishings in a way which compliments the entirety of the rooms.
