Hello, my name is

Daria Polishchuk

About Me

Eclectic - Industrial - Contemporary - Boho - Mid-Century Modern

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A DESIGNER?
A desire to design and beautify where I live has always been part of me. Ever since I was a child, I have organised the spaces around me. I loved arranging my room in different ways and pestered my parents to reposition the furniture. I carefully coordinated my toys and enthusiastically decorated the walls.

For 5 years, I was a commercial buyer for a major FMCG company but interior design has always been my passion. I have keenly followed the industry; attending design exhibitions and talks, subscribing to magazines and following professional designers on social media. The decision to turn my passion into a profession came when I re-decorated my family apartment in Moscow, in partnership with a professional interior designer. I’ve come a long way since that moment and am so proud to be part of an industry that makes the world better and people happier through aesthetics.

FROM WHERE DO YOU DRAW YOUR INSPIRATION?
I have always noticed beautiful things in the world around me and how they come together. My inspiration is taken from fresh shiny fruit in textured wooden boxes at a grocery store. Or from the busy abundance of ornaments and colours at a flea market in Marrakech to the eternal serenity of impressionist masterpieces at the Musee d'Orsay in Paris. From the buzzing streets and outlandish fashion of Harajuku, Tokyo to a fiery sunset across a beach in Barbados.
That’s not to mention textiles and wall covering showrooms, design events and exhibitions, magazines and movies. The world holds endless sources of inspiration for me.

WHAT DO YOU FEEL MAKES YOUR STYLE UNIQUE?
My greatest passion is for colours and patterns. I like to combine seemingly incompatible things, reconcile them together and see a harmonious interior appear as a result. I believe that contrast and conflict make interiors alive and vibrant, arousing feeling and provoking thought in the people in that space. Interiors like this never leave you feeling indifferent and that’s what I strive to achieve. The other crucial aspect of my approach is space planning. I believe smart layout is essential to create great design and so I work to make every square metre functional, safe and beautifully appealing.
