Choosing the right colours for your home can be quite challenging, and it is sometimes tough to know just where to start.
Much research has gone into the subject of colour, and the part it plays in our lives. Colour and colour psychology is a considerably extensive subject; however, I would like to talk a little bit about how colour choices impacts on interior design;
We have three primary colours which are red, yellow and blue. When we combine these three primary colours together, we can make secondary colours, such as blue and yellow, making green, red and yellow make orange and blue and red making purple. When you mix primary colours with secondary colours, we get different colour shades. These are called Tertiary colours.
Take a look at the colour wheel below. If you are looking for complementary colours, these are opposite each other on the wheel. Cool colours are considered to be blues and greens, and the warmer colours are reds, oranges and yellows. Different colours put us in a different state of mind, some lift us up and feel happy, and other colours can make us think the other way, depressed and irritated.
